Every @name you claim in the Beta wallet is free, and it stays free. We will never charge you for one.
Beta names live on the Beta network only. They do not carry over to production and they cannot be used for real transactions. Think of it as a test drive, claim a name, try Send-to-Name™, tell us what breaks.
Production names are registered separately when the mainnet wallet ships.
